Cute and funny side project of the pirate queen Maggie Lally aka Captain Maggots (known for live touring with Emilie Autumn).
Favorite track: Moon Song.
Insects vs. Robots long awaited second album Tales From The Blue House is a collection of songs written by the band during 2009 and 2010. At this time The Cozy Castle was at its peak. Owned and run by members of "IVR" The Cozy Castle became a staple in the underground music and art scene of West Los Angeles as a ruleless underground venue, and simultaneously was a home and rehearsal space for IVR. We tracked and recorded most of these songs in The Cozy Castle but left midway through the album. The Castle was leaking worse and worse as the winter rains ensued. We couldn't safely keep equipment inside and by this time the police and city were avidly trying to stop us from having shows.
Shortly after we moved out of The Cozy Castle we stopped rehearsing and playing shows together. We continued to record in various places around Los Angeles including Milo's house, Maggies garage, Dave Jones studio (Thanks Dave!), and my living room. Many nights of mine were spent mixing in my tiny room in Venice. Finally after a year of slowly but surely piecing together these epic songs they are finished! All of us in Insects vs Robots are proud of the outcome and excited to share this music with everyone.
These songs are special to me, they remind me of The Cozy Castle, of how brilliant my band mates and friends are, and the good times we had making this music and preforming it. We put a lot into these songs together and came up with something that is awesome, fun, interesting and moving to me and many others. ENJOY.
